Lewis the Turtle as a Hatchling

Lewis just a couple of days after hatching. Notice the egg tooth is still attached. There is also a yolk sac underneath the turtle. This red eared slider was actually a miracle baby! It was found a shortly after a dog dug up the egg clutch! Sadly, many of Lewis' siblings didn't make it, but Lewis is a survivor. Born with a massive gash in its shell, the vet gave Lewis a very low chance of survival. However, TurtleMane nursed the hatchling back to health.
